Aneurysm Embolization

Aneurysm embolization is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure used to treat brain aneurysms and other vascular abnormalities. An aneurysm is a bulging, weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel that can rupture if left untreated, leading to life-threatening bleeding.
During embolization, tiny coils or other embolic materials are inserted into the aneurysm through a thin catheter. These materials block blood flow into the aneurysm, preventing it from growing or rupturing while allowing blood to continue flowing normally through the surrounding vessels.
